Like the Marines themselves, words are scarce about this memorial, just a quiet pride and immense sense of honor.

From a Colorado-USMC newsletter about the Memorial and one of its supporters:
“Janet Taynor, a WWII Woman Marine passed away in March 2011. She was instrumental in introducing the stone and plaque at the Marine Memorial honoring the Women Marines Association of which she was a lifetime member and founder. She was active in the Marine Corps League, and the beginning years of the Marine Memorial. She also helped to establish and worked at the first Aids respite in the Denver area and served many volunteer hours as a CNA at the VA in Denver. Her ashes were spread at Yosemite where she was born before it was a national park.”
