A clock tower and collection of markers honoring veterans of Cumberland County (including all conflicts and a special marker for Medal of Honor recipient SFC Randall Shughart), the memorial is nestled alongside Children’s Lake, fed by the nearby boiling artesian springs that give the town its name.

Easy parking for photos is available on Front Street beside the tower.

Just a few hundred feet from the tower you can visit: Yellow Breeches Outfitter, a classic fly fishing shop and The Mid-Atlantic Regional Appalachian Trail office.

The nearby Allenberry Playhouse & Lodge provides entertainment, lodging, and fine dining if you are so inclined.

The US Army Heritage Museum and the United States Army War College are 15 minutes north in Carlisle, PA.

The Gettysburg Battlefield National Park is only 40 minutes south.
