This incredibly moving memorial honors the passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93 at the September 11, 2001 crash site. The newly dedicated memorial replaces the temporary one which was erected within days of the crash.
Parking and Access:
The memorial grounds open daily at 9:00 am and close at 7:00 pm (the gate closes to new entries at 6:30 pm). Photos with your motorcycle at the new main memorial would pose a challenge; but there are auxiliary displays and various signage that you can utilize.
Note: The actual crash site is accessible only to family members of Flight 93 passengers and crew.
Also in the area: Stop in at nearby Ida’s Country Store for subs, ice cream, and other refreshments. (510 Main Street, Shanksville)
Visit the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department. A steel cross donated by the NYC Fire Department (constructed from World Trade Center scrap) is displayed at the firehouse.
