Take a photo of your rally flag and motorcycle with the above image.*
One Memorial you probably weren't expecting west of the Mississippi,
in a state founded 45 years years after 1776, is a Revolutionary War
Memorial, but on the grounds of the local Courthouse, is the Washington County Revolutionary Memorial. It was
dedicated in 1957 by the local D.A.R. Chapter. None of the Veterans
were from Missouri originally but settled there after their service
and are buried in Washington County. There are more memorials on the
grounds, be sure and get the right one.
Also in the area: Potosi is home to the Falling Leaf BMW Rally every year in October.
The highlight of the Rally is when an anvil is blown several hundred
feet into the air with black powder. The Potosi Anvil Blast is quite a
sight. Nearby are two excellent State Parks, Elephant Rocks and
Johnson Shut Ins.
