In honor of all veterans, this polished granite memorial is located at the welcome center coming from Alabama into Tennessee. It was erected by Amvets and Gov. Don Sundquist.

Also in the area: For another fun and spirited Tennessee ride, head south 11 miles to Ardmore and pick up SR 110 (Ardmore Hwy.) at the intersection of SR 53 (Main St.). Travel 25 miles northeast to Fayetteville. “A few of the curves might be considered twisties, but most are just good sweeping curves to lean deep into.”

After your ride, you might want to visit the Jack Daniels Distillery in nearby Lynchburg.
