The Yakima and Kittatas County Veterans Memorial is a beautiful display set in the middle of Sarg Hubbard Park. It consists of a black granite wall inscribed with the names of local residents lost in conflict. Next to it is a beautiful example of the fallen soldier sculpture.

The park is named for Ralph D. Hubbard, known to his friends as ‘Sarg.' Although known as Sarg, Ralph was actually a retired Air Force Colonel and WWII veteran, He was also a strong advocate of all things Pacific Northwest, particularly in the area of conservation.
