Wyoming is proudly sponsored by Army veteran Janet Lennox. Please contact her for suggestions or corrections. Or just thank her for sharing her state with us.

Janet LennoxJanet never thought she would actually learn to ride until a close call with a semi in 2001, changed her mind about being a passenger. She chose not to leave her fate to the whims of someone else and bought a Honda 650. You can read about her learning adventures here.

To date some of Janet’s most memorable adventures include a trip from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Washington D.C. with the National Veteran’s Awareness Ride, Women On Wheels rides, Conga, American Legion Riders, and the Tour Of Honor.

Janet is a fourth-generation Coloradan and comes from a long line of military veterans on her father’s side of the family. Her grandfather, a Navy teletype operator, served in the Pacific during World War I. Her father was a Merchant Marine and drafted into the Army during the Korean War. Her uncles served in the Army and Marines. One brother was an Army Doctor, and the other retired from the Navy. Janet served in the Army and still remembers the sounds of heavily loaded C130s groaning from their weight as they lifted off the runways at Fort Bragg during Grenada; the importance of the oath she took to serve and protect her country were at the forefront of her thoughts as troops from her unit were deployed to Grenada.

Janet completed a tour of duty in Europe and got to see many things including the WWII American Cemeteries in Luxemburg and Normandy. The sight of acres of white crosses and stars was truly a sobering experience.

After four years of honorable service to her country, Janet completed her active duty enlistment and tried the Navy Reserves at Fort Carson for a while. Janet discovered the Navy is quite a bit different than the Army and chose to experience the remaining years of her commitment as an inactive reservist learning to be a civilian again.

The photo of Janet was taken by Flo Fuhr of Conga fame during Conga V. Her Victory Kingpin isn't usually decorated in pink sequins and tutus, but it is for Conga. Janet’s decorated bike is featured in Tamela Rich’s book, Live Full Throttle.

If you wish to contact Janet to discuss the ToH sites for Wyoming, email her at [email protected]. Ride. Reflect. Remember.
