A career sales professional, Bob Souders has sold technology solutions for some of the biggest hardware manufacturers. Bob knows the key to sales success is more than organization, a good work ethic, product knowledge, and experience. It’s also a balance between work and play. His view is the positive aspects of one will compliment the other. For Bob, travel on two wheels is the force that keeps the ups and downs of the job in perspective. Twisting the throttle on the open road provides the release necessary to keep an even keel. Along with the release is the knowledge every time you throw your leg over the bike, as Bob says, “It’s an adventure.”
A decorated Vietnam-era combat veteran with the U.S. Marine Corps, Bob is a member in good standing with the AMA and BMWMOA. An avid Iron Butt rider, he is currently completing his Master Traveler Certification that fits in well visiting ToH sites.
Bob started riding in his early teens on the back roads and deserts north of Los Angeles. The early days were small bore Suzukis and Yamahas. Switching to asphalt, he learned road racing the 125cc class at Willow Springs Raceway. Throughout college and the military, the Honda 250 Scrambler was never far away ready to give that necessary balance.
Only when married and raising two kids, did a WIMS (Wife Imposed Motorcycle Sabbatical) get in the way of riding. With the family grown and gone their own ways, Bob spends non-working hours on his BMW R1200R doing old-school long distant travel throughout the US and Canada.
The father of two boys, he and his wife, both active Rotarians, now make their home in Marietta, GA.
If you wish to contact Bob to discuss the 2013 ToH sites for Alabama, email him at [email protected] or call 770-843-1955. |
